Woodkraft believes in social stewardship along with the company’s continuous economic growth. Being an empowered member of the society, Woodkraft considers working towards development and growth of the society. The organisation not only manage their resources and operations with sustainability, but also takes on several community development activities to make lives of underprivileged youth better by providing them education, healthcare facilities and social equity. Keeping three main objectives in mind, Woodkraft helps promote education among underpriviledged youth; it also helps support children suffering from brain development disorders such as autism and cerebral palsy; and finally keeping the Swacch Bharat Abhiyan in mind, Woodkraft ensures its objectives are followed at workplaces and project sites.
Imparting knowledge being one of Woodkraft’s motive, its very first service was in collaboration with the Hindu Seva Pratishthana (HSP) that believes in Loka Hitham Mama Karaneeyam (little for self, everything else for society). HSP is committed towards the upliftment of the deprived and those with special needs without any discrimination on the basis of caste, creed or religion. Through its services HSP aims at transforming the society where people and communities are self-reliant. Since its inception in 1980, HSP has been expanding its activities, covering more people from towns and villages who need their services. Woodkraft is associated with the adoption of 50 girls, covering their expenses for school fees, books, food and healthcare.
Woodkraft has also collaborated with Mahatma Vidyalaya, a school that caters to students from 43 villages within a 12km radius and provides education to those in need at minimum cost. Main objective of the school is to mould the youth into being Great Citizens by giving quality education and infusing morals and spiritual values. Woodkraft is associated with repair works of the school furniture and infrastructure as well as provides financial support.
Friends of Tribal Society (FTS) is a non- government and voluntary organisation that Woodkraft has collaborated with. FTS is committed towards the upliftment of the underprivileged rural and tribal masses in India. The activities of FTS have been acknowledged by Gandhi Peace Prize 2017. Woodkraft is associated with FTS under their ‘One Teacher School Program’. The organisation supports 20 such schools, serving over 400 students in Mysuru, via a fund used for infrastructure maintenance, books, uniforms and much more.
Woodkraft is a huge family, and like any other family, the organisation cares about their employees. Each and every employee working in office or on-site hold great importance. Keeping the needs of their employees in mind, now for over 10 years, Woodkraft has been continuously supporting their site-staff by paying off their children’s school fees. Woodkraft believes in empowering the youth for a better and developed future. Their services towards the society have helped hundreds of underprivileged children and continues to help many.
